So I left the house early this moring. Long story short = I got lost on the way to school. I showed up promptly 2 hours later. Making me one hour late to class. But I did get to see parts of the town and know more of the city. So next time I will know where I am at.
Heres the scoop on whats been happening. I am studying Thai in the morning and teaching English in the afternoons. Usually I teach from 3-9 or 3-8pm.
Two things that are awesome. I found a free weight room nearby on my way to school. And... (drum roll) One of my students introduce me to her mom who is good friends with a muay thai coach. I need exercise, I am in school a lot of the time.So they took me by the training spot, which is walking distance from the house, and they invited me to come and train. Tomorrow I will go by and watch what they do. We have thursdays off, so after studying Thai in the morning I will prabably get a little rest then go by the training camp.
I think that there is a good possibility to make friends with the guys at the weight room and witht the guys at the training spot. I will have to pray about it also. But this could be a good way to also introduce the health message besides the teaching English that we are doing. Which is actually a really good way to share the gospel.
I am sure now that the gospel needs to be shared here. Especially in the cities.
The Lord is so good. He has given me things here that I have been wanting. Little things. I am excited to be at this church plant. Its the little things that make up life. And God cares about the little things. I have heard of muslims that dont like the Chrisitians or Buddhists here, Buddhists who do not like the Christians, Thais who just don't like foreigners, false prophets in the church, and people that are speaking negatively about others without talking to them in person first. This is what I have noticed latly.
My house mate, who teaches English and French, has reminded me to turn off the front light of the house in the morning. He leaves it on at night becuase it lights up the alley. If it were not for this light, the whole alley would be very dark. My brother here says, "We are the light of the world." This is not only true for our neighbors needing a light to shine in the ally but also for the country in which God has asked us to let our light shine before men.
oh, and I think I have a type of fungus on my skin. I have a rash or something that spreads to different parts. its not fun. i thnk i picked it up somewhere in chiangmai. I heard it could have come from my clothes that I hand washed. And Im finally getting my splinters out of my hand, there were there for about a month. I was throwing away brush and a caterpillar of somesort was on a branch I picked up. I had accidently grabbed it, which left many splinters (hair thing) in the palm of my hand. :(
